Developed by Finnish app creators Space Nation alongside NASA. Space Nation Navigation Program is a free app that aims to equip aspiring astronauts with cosmos skills through games, quizzes, puzzles, fitness tests and space adventure.
The app which is presently available only on Android aims to ‘walk’ users through the everyday habit of a cosmonaut in space and eventually draw participates into a global competition program where a winning candidate gets to win a trip to the Earth’s atmosphere.
How it works.
The app is broken into four core areas; Profile, Mission, Base, and Store.
The profile area is where you can view and keep tabs with your performance. On the menu item, you will find your weekly points, position, all-time position, and how you rank among other players. You can again view all the accomplishment you have unlocked within the training topics and share your journey with players through social channels.
To get an adrenaline rush, and make daily exercise your routine, get into the mission section. Here, there are games directed to make one function like an astronaut would do in space.
The games are diverse and are meant to test your ability, skills, and body with work activities meant to bring to you what it is like to be in space beside enhancing your scores
Apart from the physical exercises, there is a subsection with recipes to help you learn how to cook liquid, pastry, or dry meals in space without contamination.
The adventure and fun do not stop there, Space Nation Navigator likewise have the quiz, vocabulary and cultural assessment to take account of your knowledge and understanding of space and space terms and how astronauts would behave in a spaceship and in the stars. With every answer you give, you get explanation and facts to help you learn.
To find the space-related text that you can read and listen to, you select the Base section. Here you will get many weekly editorials and podcast to read, listen, and learn how to train in zero gravity. You can also watch your weekly points, position, level of training and leaderboard where you can see the top-ranked member of a week alongside their tallies. Your previous gains are cleared at this stage for you to get an opportunity to score even more highly next time.
You must understand that your scores determine the prize you will receive and whether you get to be one of the 100 trainees set to compete in the training boot camps in Iceland moon-like scenery besides being a winner of four tickets to the stars.
Microtransactions are too incorporated in the Space Nation Navigator together with commercial pop-ups. The app is also available as In-App Purchase ranging from $1 to $170 and anytime you try to re-enter a mission you will have to part with some extra coins at the shop section.
